Autumn Feels | Chilliwack Portrait Photographer

I am an amazing Uno player and a terrible blogger.

This fall has been full of cozy soups, Halloween-themed sessions, florals, spooky movies, and editing editing editing. SO MUCH EDITING. I feel really grateful for this season - the last two falls have been complex and difficult for my family and I and creating art was sometimes hard to find energy & time for. It’s been such a kindness to have space - and spirit - to create this season and either the fall colours are more vibrant than usual or I’m just more present to them now. I hope however this season is unfolding for you it feels cozy, safe, and full of fall colours.

Little fall memories, October 2021

Goodbye Sweet Summer

I, for one, am always most excited about the change of seasons. The best time of the year is when everything is changing over to something new. I’m excited to see what unfolds into autumn this year: travelling to Fort St John (Sep 20-23, sessions still available, hit me up!), all the lovely family/beauty fall sessions, and so many cozy sits reading books, burning incense, drinking lattes, family dinners & board games. I am, and always will be, a fan of sweater weather.

Here’s a little capture from the Cultus Lake Flower Fest - it’s such a lovely space, I would 100% recommend going next year! (It just closed for the season today).

I hope you all had a wonderful summer, let’s mosey on into fall - booking September and October currently and I can’t wait to photograph you.

Hello 2019!

Here I am, on the first day of 2019 updating my blog I AM ON IT.

In 2018 my goal was to be more present in photographs, and I plan to do more of that this upcoming year. I also have more creative projects in the works, especially personal creative work, while I sort out my counselling practice as well. 2018 has been a year of such creativity, growth and change that I’ve been lucky enough to take much of December to just reflect on how I want to move forward with my business and counselling practice and what that might look like. So I guess my goal for 2019 is for more of that, but balanced with just a few more naps than last year.

In the meantime, I’m super excited to say that 2018, with all the creativity, the beauty, art-making, triumphs - and yes, even with the losses, was magical, powerful, and full of growth. It was everything I hoped it would be, and I’m ready for all the awesome stuff 2019 will bring.

Thanks for following along with me this past year, trusting me to photograph you, and making art with me.

Sarah
